New for 2020, ‘5 to 9’ is the new format for our boosst team updates.
With a name inspired by the things we have been doing outside of working hours, here you will find plenty of social activities, team achievements and personal touches. This ‘5 to 9’ post is shared by Gabby.

Wedding Bells!

January was full of anticipation as Jennie (our Practice Manager) had been making the final touches to her wedding preparations!

The photo at the top of this page was inspired by Nick’s proposal to Jennie, on the shores of Loch Lomond. They have spent the last 12 months visiting wedding venues, hand crafting beautiful invitations, sampling menus and (most importantly?!) Jennie has been hunting down the perfect dress. We celebrated her final day in the office with some rather large balloons and a lovely wedding veil which she was forced encouraged to wear all day!

The Wedding Day itself couldn’t have been more perfect and it was so lovely to be there all together, supporting Jennie on such a special day. We even managed to grab a boosst team photo!

Earlier in the month, Dawn, our Enterprise Client Support, took her Annual Charity Day. At boosst, we are each given an additional day of leave to support a Charity that is close to our hearts. Dawn decided to support Emily’s Star – a fantastic charity that provide neo-natal boxes to Milton Keynes Hospital for premature babies. Dawn joined forces with other volunteers to help prepare the boxes, packing small woolly hats, blankets, chocolates, tissues and notebooks. The little boxes are then sent to families to provide support at the most difficult time. Dawn really enjoyed her time with Emily’s Star and hopes to join them again in the future.

We also supported Willen Hospice this month, by entering two teams into their monthly ‘Curry & Quiz’ night in Stony Stratford. Vicki (one of our Financial Planners), Mel (our new Trainee) and myself formed one team (The non-Buttens) and we went head-to-head against Josh, Keith & Linda! Safe to say, it was a VERY competitive evening with the non-Buttens pipping the Buttens in the final round! I think Keith and Josh were hoping for more sports questions, but Vicki, Mel & I were very glad for the dingbat’s rounds! We will certainly be returning for a rematch and more delicious curry in the coming months.

With the end of the tax year fast approaching, we anticipate a busy month ahead. We hope you and your families have a lovely March & April and look forward to sharing our next ‘5 to 9’ update in May.
