As we dive deeper into 2021, here is your next instalment of our ‘5 to 9’ team update!
With a name inspired by the things we have been doing outside of working hours, here you will find plenty of social activities, team achievements and personal touches. This ‘5 to 9’ post is shared by Gabby.

As Summer has drawn to a close and the days nights are drawing in, the boosst team have made the most of their ‘5 to 9’s’. There have been plenty of busy weekends and exciting plans – so much in fact, that my call for content from the team has left me inundated with highlights to share with you.

The boosst team has continued to grow and we have 3 new faces to introduce you to! Riah joined the team in August as our newest ‘bright to boosst’ trainee who will be following in the footsteps of Josh, myself and Mel. Riah will be completing lots of technical exams over the coming years, but she will be in safe hands with the team to support and mentor her.

September brought the arrival of two new Financial Planners to bolster our capacity and help us to serve more lovely people just like you! Tom & Jo take our financial planning team up to five and have both settled into the swing of things very quickly. They both benefit of career experience in the financial planning profession – and we have been impressed by their desire to learn ‘the boosst way’ and get up to speed in their new environment.

In mid-September Keith organised a pizza night for our newly expanded team to get-together socially and spend some quality time with new faces. There were more toppings on offer than you could imagine, and we each built our perfect pizza – from truffle bases, to fried eggs and pulled pork, there was something for everyone! Everybody had good fun and it turns out… you really can tell a lot about someone from their preferred pizza toppings! (Keep reading for some insight to Nick’s flavours of choice!)

Our next social event was early in October – but this time we shared the occasion with some of our lovely clients! Josh had the brilliant idea of organising a private screening of the new James Bond film. We acted quick to setup a prize draw and filled the cinema with lucky winners. The film itself was spectacular, and if you haven’t seen it already, then I highly recommend going along soon! The evening was filled with plenty of drama, lots of laughs, and more popcorn that you can possibly imagine!

The team have also managed to take some lovely holidays over the past couple of months. Jennie and her husband Nick spent some time in Norfolk – with a. highlight being that Jennie finally got to fulfil her dream of swimming off the Norfolk coast with the sunset:

Jennie and Nick also drove all the way up to Scotland to spend a week overlooking the beautiful Loch Ness. They overcame their fear of heights by taking the cable car to the top of Ben Nevis – and it looks like the stunning views made the long trip worthwhile:

Jo also took a trip to Scotland with her husband and two girls. They spent their time visiting Farne Island to see the seals and also went to Lindisfarne. Jo and her husband were keen for their daughters to try Scottish traditional food, although quickly realised if the girls knew where haggis came from they might not be so keen on the idea! Sometimes as parents you have to tell the occasional white lie, so Jo convinced them that a haggis was a real animal like the one below. The girls thoroughly enjoyed their dinner, although Jo is now wondering how old they should be before she reveals the truth!

Mel and his girlfriend Fran managed to get abroad to Malta in early October. They travelled around a lot during their stay, exploring Valletta (the Capital City) and Mdina (the old Capital City). They also took a boat over to Gozo, a sister island of Malta to explore the beautiful coastline.

Although Nick hasn’t been away, he has been spending his 5 to 9s taking very good care of his new chilli plants, harvesting his first crop just a few weeks ago. Nick kindly offered some of the extra chillies to the boosst team, although failed to mention that some of the chillies were the world’s hottest variety! You can now probably guess how he likes his pizza!

There have also been some celebrations amongst the boosst team! Laura walked down the aisle at the beautiful Shearsby Bath in the rural countryside of Leicestershire to become Mrs George on Saturday 23rd October.  Laura and her husband chose the most wonderful three tier cake – chocolate rolo, vanilla and strawberry & champagne which the boosst team were lucky enough to sample! Lauras highlight of the day was the Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons Tribute band, as all the guests were on the dance floor partying into the early hours! A lovely day filled with memories for Laura to treasure.

Josh and I also have some exciting news to share… we went on holiday to the North York Moors in August and at the end of one of our walks, whilst overlooking the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Josh proposed! It was the most wonderful surprise, in one of the most peaceful and picturesque locations. We will certainly be asking for tips from Laura as our wedding planning now begins!

It’s lovely to have so many fabulous trips amongst the team and exciting news to share with you. Life really does feel like it is returning to normal for us all! We hope the same is true for you and your families.

We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to our office over the coming months. The option for virtual meetings will continue as we know that lots of you have enjoyed this, but there is now the option for face-to-face meetings too.

Take care, stay well and see you soon!
