As we dive deeper into 2022, here is your next instalment of our ‘5 to 9’ team update!
With a name inspired by the things we have been doing outside of working hours, here you will find plenty of social activities, team achievements and personal touches. This ‘5 to 9’ post is shared by Gabby.

As Spring has sprung at the boosst HQ, the boosst team have been enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings of the office and the plentiful nature that the water attracts. The trees have begun to blossom, and the days have been getting a little longer and brighter.

The lake itself is proving a wonderful home to a variety of species of birds; such as Kingfishers, Grebes, Herons, Sparrows and Geese. We have been lucky enough to have some English Geese nesting on the island too, and just last week we saw the mother take her goslings for their first swim! This is the first year that we have had a nesting English goose – and we hope that as the lake becomes more established, we will see some more of the rarer varieties doing the same.

We have also had quite a few little ducklings make the lake their home too – mother duck certainly has her work cut out here with 21 to look after!

Away from the office, the boosst team have been keeping busy as ever. In January, Riah headed to North Yorkshire for some time away with her partner Harry, and they stayed in a beautifully secluded treehouse. The treehouse was surrounded by open countryside, so they spent lots of time exploring the local areas and building up a good step count! In the evenings they enjoyed making fresh pizza on the built-in pizza oven and rested their achey legs in the hot tub.

Tom has also enjoyed some travel and even managed to get to Barbados for his much belated honeymoon (the wedding was in 2019!). Covid had meant the trip had to be delayed, so it felt even more special for himself and his wife Alice when they finally arrived.

After all that relaxation, Tom (who is a bit of an adrenaline junkie!) needed something a little more adventurous, so they also went to Mayrhofen in Austria for a bit of snowboarding and après ski!

Jennie also had a very belated (3 times deferred and rescheduled due to covid) hen do reunion with seven ladies from her wedding. They went to a beautiful spa resort in Norfolk where they relaxed in the spa and hot tub and made lots of delicious cocktails. A lot of fun was had by all!

In February, we also had another boosst wedding to look forward to! This time it was Nick (our techy paraplanner) walking down the aisle with his beautiful bride Martina. The wedding was set in a rural barn, with stunning countryside views and the best wedding atmosphere I have ever experienced! This was down to Martina and Nick embracing their two cultures and bringing their traditions together in such a fun way on their special day (Nick is British and Martina is Slovakian). There was dancing, acting, traditional wedding etiquette, traditional dress and to top it off Nick and Martina being carried around on chairs by their family! It was such a wonderful way to bring the wedding guests together and make it a day to remember forever!

At the start of April, Keith and Linda took on their first big adventure in the boat. 18 boats in total left Bray & Windsor marinas and made their way to St Katherine’s dock, which is right by Tower Bridge in London. From this point, 6 of the boats then headed on to Chatham which allowed them to give the boats a blast on the open water of the Thames Estuary and River Medway. Whilst Bray to Chatham is just a mere 78 miles (1.5 hours via the M25 car!), by boat it was a few days, with stops at Chertsey, Hampton Court, Teddington, and St Kats. A brilliant adventure for Keith and Linda with plenty of new skills learnt along the way.

We have also had another one of our boosst team socials… this time it was pottery painting at Social Pottery in Woburn Sands. After a quick team drink in the Swan pub, we headed across to the venue where we faced the first challenge of deciding which item to paint! There were plant pots, money boxes, decorative ornaments, dinner plates, miniature VW campers and tea sets to name just a few, so the first challenge was to pick our canvas! We were then set up with some special paints and music and began to create our masterpieces. There were a variety of painting styles being performed by the team. Jennie was very focused on every meticulous detail of her delicate strawberries, whereas Nick chose a paint flicking style for his planter. Keith and Linda slightly regretted their seating choice as they were behind Nick, and blended in nicely with his pot once complete! Linda and I collected some great Pizzas from Nonna’s in Woburn Sands to keep the artwork flowing and we may have taken an extra slice as payment for collection! It was a great evening and really nice to do something a bit different and creative with our teammates.

With the summer months fast approaching, the boosst team are looking forward to the warmer days with plenty of exciting things already planned. We hope you and your families have enjoyed the first few months of 2022, and that you have plenty to look forward to as the year continues. As always, we are here as and when you need us.

Take care, stay well and see you soon!
