It’s been a busy summer here at boosst HQ, with plenty going on in our 5 to 9’s! From sun-filled holidays to exciting life milestones, the team has been making the most of the sunny season.
Many of us took some time to recharge over the summer. Jennie enjoyed several long weekends in Norfolk, strolling along the beautiful beaches with her husband Nick and their Labrador, Luna.

Nick also took time to unwind, visiting Scarborough, Bamburgh, and Seahouses with his wife Martina and close family. The wildlife on the coast was spectacular, and they explored scenic castles overlooking the bay.

Tom and Alice flew off to Sri Lanka to spend two weeks hiking and exploring the countries various climates and culture, from Treks in the jungle, pursuing elephants with native tribes, to surfing lessons on pristine beaches.

Back at HQ, our green fingers were put to the test with a sunflower-growing contest. Dawn generously provided seeds to the whole team, but it seems none of us will be trading in our day jobs for gardening anytime soon! Although our sunflowers didn’t quite reach impressive heights, we still had fun—and the flowers in the pictures below? Well, let’s just say we ‘borrowed’ one of them during a walk!
We also took on a fun team challenge, escaping from a Wallace and Gromit-themed “Locked In A Room” experience. Both teams managed to solve the puzzles and escape the room in time, but a big congratulations to Tom’s team for pipping Josh’s team by almost 10 minutes! We aren’t a competitive bunch at all…!

A stroke of luck hit both Jennie and myself this year, as we each managed to secure Wimbledon tickets through the ballot. Jennie attended the first round of the men’s and women’s singles, while Josh and I had the incredible opportunity to witness the Men’s final – Djokovic vs Alcaraz. The atmosphere was electric, and the tennis was world-class. As a bonus, we even spotted Kate, Pippa, and Charlotte in the Royal Box—and got a wave from Tom Cruise while enjoying some ice cream!

The team has also been keeping active in more ways than one. Ryan has been busy with his football training, with a highlight being his trip to Canvey Island in August, where he played in the FA Cup. His team’s 3-1 victory was a fantastic achievement!

Meanwhile, Avril, Dawn, and Jennie took part in the Midnight Moo—a 10-mile walk through Milton Keynes at midnight in support of Willen Hospice. They helped raise funds for this incredible local charity while getting in some steps! Overall the walk raised £109,000!

In true boosst fashion, our Wellness Team organised another ‘bake-off,’ this time featuring savoury treats. We had sausage twists, focaccia, scotch eggs, pasties and more! After indulging in a week’s worth of delicious creations, we crowned Nick’s Chicken and Chorizo Empanadas as the winner! With the ‘showstopper’ competition coming up in November, anyone visiting the Boosst office might just be lucky enough to sample a few treats! Lots of photos to below to whet your appetite.
We’ve also had some lovely news to celebrate within the team. Jennie recently became an aunty when her sister Helen welcomed a beautiful baby girl. Laura became a mum to her adorable baby boy Liam, and we had a wonderful team baby shower to celebrate before his arrival.

In other exciting news, Riah got engaged to Harry during a special trip to New York, with Harry proposing against the iconic Manhattan skyline. The happy couple spent five days exploring the city before returning home to celebrate with friends and family. They now have the exciting task of planning their wedding!

As the nights grow longer and Autumn sets in, there’s much to look forward to. Whether it’s exciting new milestones, fun team challenges, or simply spending time with loved ones, the boosst team is ready for whatever is ahead. And as always, we’re here to support our clients every step of the way—so if you need us, we’re just a call away!
