2024 is proving to be another great year at boosst!

Above and beyond the standard business metrics we track, one that we talk about regularly is how often we have been able to support clients through life’s challenges.  Some of those challenges have been positive – like retirement, property transactions, car changes, holiday planning, or optimising IHT planning or free childcare hours.  Others challenges are sadly not positive, like supporting clients through redundancy or bereavement. While not every challenge we help to navigate is a ‘good’ one – we gain great satisfaction from being here to support our clients, no matter the trigger. We see great value in providing a reassuring voice, sharing experiences of others who have overcome similar challenges, or simply providing a guiding hand through a difficult time.

Taking the productivity trophy for Q1, once again, was our fantastic admin team. Completing hundreds of tasks and transactions either side of the ‘tax year end’ has become standard practice for them, albeit the load will imminently reduce as we soon welcome new arrivals to the team in May and July.

✅  Investment markets have been up.

✅  Inflation has been drifting back down.

✅  We’ve met a record number of referrals.

✅  The number of new clients we have welcomed to the boosst family is up.

✅  We’ve received new Google Reviews and a dozen new additions to our Wall of Love (link)

So it all seems to work! We’ll keep striving to find new ways to support you through life’s challenges… and we hope you continue to say nice things about us to your friends, family and colleagues!

So let’s see what the team have been up to:

We were all very excited when we received the news that we will be having our very first boosst baby.  Laura announced her news to us back in February and we are all pleased to share the news now that scans have all been successful and everything is growing as it should be.  We are sure Max will make a fantastic big brother!

Team Activities

After a busy period through March and April, the team had a meal at our local, The Swan in Salford.  Many of you will have been here as it tends to be a favourite stop for our clients to enjoy a spot of lunch while reflecting on their annual planning meeting at the office.  We can highly recommend, the food was delicious!

Our Wellness ambassadors continue to give us things to do both inside and outside of work to keep us fit, healthy and to enjoy the great outdoors.  We have sown our seeds for the sunflower competition, we enjoyed another team lunch and we are busy planning our next bake off and outdoor activities.!

Travel & Fun

The rugby tours continue with Keith & Josh following Harlequins for their quarter final clash against favourites Bordeaux in the European Champions Cup.  Following a spectacular win for underdog Harlequins, tickets are now booked for the semi-final clash in Toulouse in May. A great reminder that “you have to be there, to be there”.

Riah ticked off another on her personal challenge of visiting 30 countries before she’s 30, with a weekend visit to Stockholm with a friend. She is well on track, with 7 to visit in 30 months!  We have no doubt this challenge will be completed!  She is always very happy to receive ideas of where to go next!

Talking of bucket lists, I (Jennie) managed to finally visit the Royal Albert Hall!  Something that had been on my list for a number of years!  My husband and I went to see the Orchestral Ministry of Sound, taking us back to our youth!  A great day out!  The funny thing was that on Monday, we found out that Josh and Gabby were there too – taken as a surprise by friends for their wedding gift!

Nicola & Arthur had a busy half term together, with Arthur’s highlight being a trip to the bowling alley.  Nicola finished the day with a fun evening with the girls, pottery painting at a studio in Newport Pagnell:

Wellness

Dawn set herself a challenge of picking up an old hobby in 2023… so she was thrilled to share her completed masterpiece with us after 15 months work! Her cross-stitch is over a meter wide and nearly half a meter tall… it’s a lot of stitches!  Well done, Dawn, this is simply stunning and will look wonderful on your living room wall!

Tom has had a great start to his latest fitness challenges, with the London and Milton Keynes half marathons under his belt and he continues to work towards the Berlin Marathon in September.

Sadly, we’ve also had to say goodbye to a valued member of the boosst team after 10+ years service… when the coffee machine sadly came to the end of its life!  Don’t worry though, the kitchen has had an upgrade and good coffee is ready to greet you here at boosst HQ.

We hope all your plans are coming to fruition for 2024 and we look forward to the next opportunity to support you.

Take care,

Jennie
